-1940- Joined the Royal Air Force Ferry Command, which ferried new aircraft from factory to Gander Airport in Newfoundland before making the journey across the Atlantic
-1941- Received a license to operate scheduled flights between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick
-December 7, 1941- Burke opened Maritime Central Airways (MCA)
-1945- With the success of MCA, the company was fitting to add more aircrafts to their fleet
-1951- MCA received major read with the Pinetree Project. MCA transported supplies for the expression of U.S. radar stations
-1953- MCA acquired Boreal Airways and Mont Laurier Aviation
-1954- The company received another contract to aid in the eastern section of the Distant archaeozoic Warning Line, which was a system of radar stations in Northern Canada.
-1957- MCA set up Nordair (subsidiary), with the merge of Boreal Airways and Mont Laurier Aviation
-1976- Died in Boston, Massachusetts at age 63
Carl Burke was born on February 10th, 1913 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and died at the age of 63 in 1976, living a short but accomplished life. He completed his post-secondary studies at Charlottetown Business College, and also attended Acadia University later in life. At the age of 23 he began fast-flying lessons in St John, New Brunswick. By 1939 he had obtained a mercenary licence and became a pilot for Canadian Airways Limited (CAL) in Moncton, New Brunswick.
