Linux, like Windows stomach be subjected to hacking and virus attacks at any given time. b bely Linux being an open sourced system, any holes in security that ar found can be patched in a very timely manner due to so some people working to make the system better on a daily bases. In general, Linux is more secure and permanent especially when talking about the enterprise editions, because it is not as targeted as a Windows system. The kernel versions that are used are long-standing and excite graduated to great stability.
Windows, unlike Linux is a proprietary system. This means that any changes or security patches that need to be made has to be done by the Microsoft company. Windows is heavily targeted when it comes to hacking and viruses because of merchandise share.



When there is a hole found in the security of a Windows system, as aforementioned, it will take longer to delineate and is usually done through the release of security packs (Harbaugh 2009).
Team A realizes that Riordan is currently running both Windows and Linux servers at this time, further we feel that completely switching over to Linux will be the best choice due to better stability and tear down security threats. Other factors we considered is that when a security patch is direct by Microsoft it is normally necessary to reboot, meaning downtime that can have a negative effect on business. We also considered exist when making this decision, having to pay licensing cost for Windows can become kind of expensive; this is not a factor when considering a Linux system.
