The speech of welfare is on the rise and the number of Americans receiving some motley of government assistance is at an all time high-minded and for some, it seems to be a way of life. The need for welfare was bang-up in the 1930s during the Great Depression. Millions of people people lost their jobs and homes. Fathers were passing their families fag in search of work in opposite cities and states. Mothers were left(p) behind with their children and had to survive on their own. The elderly were also execrable because they didnt have the money to live on and were too gray-haired to work. Before the Great Depression, community charities helped the needy and the struggling family, hardly the downfall of the economy hit everone hard. The people that once helped the wretched now had the urge to achieve their own survival. They no time-consuming had the financial means to help.
