I am not a religous person, scarcely I get this question offends many people who think graven image hand picks and creates every human. As for myslef, I have cardinal kids and I would not want to pick eye or hair color, further I would choose to have a genetic test done to fix what ever sturdy genes they had. For instance my wife and I ar overweight and have been most of our life, While I do beleive it is from eating overly much and not exercising enough, I also know there is a gene that recites the body how tro instal dilate and how to metobolize fat, if I could have that fixed in my kids so they wouldnt store fat at a fatsr rate than normal people then I would do it.
I think the benefits outwiegh the damages, I also think there will be an acclivitous battle with the religious crazies (who probably dont have sick kids) that immortal wouldnt like this. I say have one of your kids choke of Cancer at age 6 and then tell me you dont want to be able to cure it before they are born.
As for the last part, yes death is a part of life, but Life comes first. The point of life is not death but to live and to live as full a life as possible and if we can genetically alter oursleves to live longer and be more productive then why not do it, I do not think we shoul;d live forever,we bespeak to die, but we also need to truly live.
