Analysis Of "Running For Governor" By M.Twain

This is a short level by Mark span about how he was nominated for Governor of New York. So, by the breakfast he came across unpleasant and utterly foolish things about himself in a newspaper. After that, either extract of the newspaper is followed by the comments of the author. Like a dialogue between the dishonest journalists and the innocent politician.
The irony in this story prevails and the author created it by using 2 options: by the truly zany situation and with the help of vocabulary and stylistic devices. The general tone is ironic and the articles are written in zany tone with exaggerations. The very situations in the extracts tell unrealistic things that M.

And the exaggerated things all are devoted to produce humorous effect (meager plantain patch, poor native widow, helpless family, feral heartless charge…).
